Founded by two partners who envisioned a company rooted in local ownership, community investment, and strong relationships, GMS has grown into a national network of hundreds of distribution centers across more than 40 states—yet it has never drifted from its original values. Every GMS subsidiary operates with deep industry expertise, a comprehensive product inventory, and a commitment to supporting customers from the first phone call to the final closeout to ensure safe, reliable, on‑time project completion. This unique model blends the strength of a national platform with the agility and personal touch of local “go‑to‑market” companies. Expansive Support

GMS operates a network of more than 320 distribution centers with extensive product offerings of Wallboard, Ceilings, Steel Framing and Complementary Products. In addition, GMS operates nearly 100 tool sales, rental and service centers, providing a comprehensive selection of building products and solutions for its residential and commercial contractor customer base across the United States and Canada. The Company’s unique operating model combines the benefits of a national platform and strategy with a local go-to-market focus, enabling GMS to generate significant economies of scale while maintaining high levels of customer service.
